Program of Assertive Community Treatment (PACT)

The Columbia River Mental Health Services Program of Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) Team has transitioned into a new space connected to the CRMHS Main Clinic.

This relocation highlights Columbia River’s dedication to enhancing its services and providing tailored care to individuals requiring a higher level of support.

PACT Team Serves Concurrent Needs

Comprising medication management prescribers, nurses, therapists, peer support specialists, substance use providers, case managers and program coordinators, the PACT Team operates on a collaborative model, aiming to address the multifaceted needs of their clients effectively.

The newly designated PACT space facilitates the skill-building, socializing, working and learning components of PACT. Rather than merely symptom reduction, the program aims to help people with severe mental illness live fulfilling lives. This environment facilitates various therapeutic activities, such as psych rehabilitation, group therapy sessions, and more.

Psych Rehabilitation, a cornerstone of PACT’s approach, empowers clients to acquire skills vital for leading fulfilling and independent lives. From practical tasks such as cooking, home safety and budgeting to more interpersonal skills like reconnecting with family on neutral grounds, the program aims to equip individuals with the tools necessary for success.

CRMHS Chief Clinical Officer Anne Willis

Anne Willis, CRMHS chief clinical officer, shares, “PACT programs serve our community members with some of the largest challenges to success, often clients who have had multiple psychiatric hospitalizations. The team assists in stabilizing the client and reducing the need for higher levels of care, which are both expensive for the healthcare system and restrictive for the client. We aim to have our clients with persistent and severe mental illness live full, safe lives in the community.”

The PACT Team’s relocation signifies more than just a change in physical space. It symbolizes a continued dedication to community-based mental health care. The PACT team remains steadfast in its mission to provide compassionate and effective support to those in need.

Thank you to all of the community supporters who helped make the new PACT space available to the team and Columbia River clients. Your efforts reflect a shared commitment to fostering a supportive environment that allows clients to heal and grow.
