After more than a decade of support, the Columbia River Mental Health Foundation is uniting with Columbia River Mental Health Services to be one organization, mission, and voice.
For the last 12 years, thanks to generous donors and a hardworking Board, the Columbia River Mental Health Foundation has played a part in removing the negative stigma associated with behavioral health and reducing the financial barriers to accessing treatment in Clark County.
Operated by a volunteer board for most of its existence, the Foundation has experienced barriers with growing to meet the total financial needs of CRMHS. For that reason, the governing board of CRMHS and the board of trustees for the Foundation have decided to go in an exciting new direction – integration.
By integrating, Michael Graves, President of the Foundation, says, “Columbia River Mental Health Services will continue to have access to all of the resources the Foundation was providing but without the unnecessary redundancies. In short, it simply makes sense, and it will ensure that all resources get to those in our community who badly need them. Quickly, efficiently, and without unnecessary overhead. Together, we can continue to change lives!”
Recently CRMHS created a new position in the organization: Chief Marketing and Development Officer. CRMHS is excited about the integration and opportunity to bring more awareness to the organization through one mission and one voice. The Foundation board members will remain connected to CRMHS through an advisory committee role and continue to assist with fundraising in the community.
Previous donations made to the Foundation will be transferred over in the coming months. Donors can rest assured that the intent of their contributions will still be honored.
